LOCATED IN BEACHWOOD | SERVING CLEVELAND AND NORTHEAST OHIO
Even if aging skin is not your concern, perhaps you have scars or acne or are unhappy with texture, redness, or discoloration. Laser treatment is a method of skin resurfacing to remove the outer sun-damaged layers of the facial skin. Whether you’re concerned about wrinkles, acne, scarring, or pigmentation issues, laser resurfacing improves the overall look of your skin, giving it a more smooth and youthful appearance.
If you want to remove unwanted body hair without painful waxing and plucking, laser hair removal with the Diolaze laser might be for you! The areas treated by Double-Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Diana Ponsky or our nurse practitioner, Olivia, include upper arms and forearms, back, chest, chin and neck, sideburns, and facial region. Diolaze has a built-in cooling surface, which makes treatment more comfortable than other devices.
How It Helps
Laser skin resurfacing treatment is one of the best ways to address many of the most common skin concerns, including sunspots, age spots, wrinkles, rosacea, redness, acne scars, and even acne. CO2 Laser Resurfacing treats wrinkles, scars, warts, and other conditions. Laser resurfacing revitalizes skin after years of moderate to significant sun exposure. By stimulating collagen reorganization and eliminating discoloration, laser resurfacing improves skin color, texture, and elasticity.
BEFORE
What to Expect Before Laser Skin Resurfacing
Double-board certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Diana Ponsky and nurse practitioner Olivia Marino will work with you to plan your laser treatment, starting with a detailed evaluation to gain an intricate understanding of your face’s underlying anatomy. You will discuss the specifics of the procedure. You may consult a series of appointments to prepare your skin for the treatment to increase your skin’s tolerance to the laser application and prevent side effects.
DURING
What to expect during Laser Skin Resurfacing
A topical, local, or general anesthetic will be administered, and the skin will be cleansed to remove any excess oil, dirt, and bacteria. The laser will be applied precisely, and any mild discomfort will be temporary. Laser treatments generally have a sensation mimicking a rubber band snapping against the skin.
AFTER
What to expect after Laser Skin Resurfacing
Dr. Diana Ponsky will give you post-surgical instructions personalized to your procedure. Immediately afterward, resurfaced skin may be covered with petroleum jelly or another protective moisturizer. Sometimes, dressings, tape, or a bandage may be applied. Recovery times range between 7-10 days, and then post-procedural redness can be hidden with concealing makeup. After the initial redness subsides, your skin may be pink for several weeks to months, with the discoloration becoming less apparent. The results are dramatic and last as long as further sun exposure is avoided.
