How It Helps
Laser hair removal helps with the permanent reduction or elimination of unwanted hair. Diolaze laser hair removal requires a series of treatments so that it can target hair follicles in their mature stage. Best results are obtained after 4-6 sessions. The number of sessions varies with your hair color, type, and body area.
BEFORE
What to expect before laser hair removal
Avoid plucking or waxing 2-4 weeks before treatment. The laser targets the hair roots temporarily removed if waxing or plucking is performed in advance. Sun exposure should be avoided for 4-6 weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications like hyperpigmentation more likely after treatment, especially in those with darker skin types.
DURING
What to expect during laser hair removal
During your session, we will evaluate the area to ensure no open sores or irritation. Then, both you and the clinician will wear protective eyewear. A gel will be applied to the area to be treated, which works with the laser to cool the area. After treatment, a cool gel is applied to soothe the skin. You may apply cool compresses to the treated area.
AFTER
What to expect after laser hair removal
The area treated can feel like a sunburn. Use aloe vera and moisturizers to calm your skin. To avoid hyperpigmentation, use sunblock (SPF 30) one week after the procedure. The hair will fall out over the next month. You may have some redness on the day of the procedure. You will need treatment sessions to catch the hair follicles in their mature stage, usually spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
