LARGE PORES
Large Pores Treatment
Pores contribute to our skin’s natural hydration process, moisturizing and keeping it supple. But as our skin loses elasticity as we age, skin can stretch and sag, making pores appear more prominent. Age and sun damage also thickens skin, which causes a tiny gathering of cells around the pores, making them look bigger. Extensive sun exposure can also impact collagen, elastin, and water in your skin, causing the tissues to shrink and pull at the edge of the pores.
What causes large pores?
How can I shrink my pores?
Pores are necessary for maintaining healthy skin, but large pores can be frustrating. Genetics usually determine pore size, but aging, sun damage, oily skin, and blackheads can make pores look bigger.
Topical treatments may work to shrink the appearance of large pores. Products with retinol can make pores appear smaller by increasing cell turnover and unclogging the pores. Retinol can help smooth skin with continued use, and paired with sunscreen use and regular skin cleansing, can further improve the appearance of large pores. Cleansing and exfoliating will refresh the skin and remove collections of debris that increase pore size. Skin resurfacing: skin resurfacing with lasers, chemical peels, microneedling, or dermabrasion is also an effective treatment.
